ABOUT

With a full and agile voice, soprano Jessica Latouche regularly performs as a guest soloist throughout the province of Quebec. We could hear her at the Gala “L’amour à l’opéra ou les mots|maux d’amour” (Opéra de Québec) and during multiple concerts as a guest soloist with major orchestras, ensembles and choirs of the province, as well as during a tour in China, organized by the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques (JAL) and in Belgium with the Brussels International Singers as well as the I Musici Brucellensis orchestra.

 

Jessica's recent opera appearances include the role of Louise (Messe solennelle pour une pleine lune d'été, C.Thomas/M.Tremblay - world premiere) - Quebec Opera Festival; of Anna (Nabucco, Verdi) - Opéra de Québec; the Lilac Fairy (Peau d’âne, J-F Mailloux - creation) - Quebec Opera Festival; Blanche de la Force (Dialogues des Carmelites, Poulenc) and Écho (Écho et Narcisse, Gluck) - at Laval University (during doctor degree); Clotilde (Norma, Bellini) - Opéra de Rimouski; Donna Anna (Don Giovanni, Mozart) - Accademia Europea dell'Opera di Lucca (Italy). She was also an understudy for the roles of Donna Anna and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni, Mozart) at the Opéra de Québec, and by Marguerite (Faust, Gounod) at the Quebec Opera Festival.

 

Upcoming engagements include Rosaline (The Bat, J. Strauss) - Opéra de Québec; La Baronne de Gondremarck (La vie parisienne, J. Offenbach) - Opéra bouffe du Québec; La Dame de Monte-Carlo (Poulenc) and Sheherazade (Ravel) - Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Symphony Orchestra; the Chocolats Symphoniques concert - Orchestre symphonique de Québec; Gloria (Vivaldi) - Ensemble Dal Segno;

 

Jessica holds a vocal arts degree (doctorate) at Laval University (2022) under the direction of internationally acclaimed baritone, Jean-François Lapointe. She is 2021 Sandra and Alain Bouchard Foundation grant holder. She is also the winner of the Prix Poulenc 2021 co-offered by Les Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques and l’Association des amis de Francis Poulenc (Paris). Since 2021, she has been teaching in the Musical Theater program at the Cégep de Sainte-Foy, as well as at the Faculty of Music at Laval University since 2023.
